Mason Locks ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This page explains what personal data we collect when you contact us, request a quote, leave a review, or call our phone line, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect, and why

Contact form and quote requests

When you send us a message, we collect your name and whichever contact details you provide (phone and/or email) along with your message. We use this only to respond to your enquiry — to give you a quote, arrange a call-out, or answer your question. This is processed on the basis that it's necessary to take steps towards a contract with you, or our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services.

Reviews

If you submit a review, we collect the name, star rating and optional comment you provide. Submitted reviews are held privately until we approve them; once approved, your name, rating and comment are displayed publicly on this website. We don't publish your email, phone number, or address. You can ask us to remove a published review at any time using the contact details below.

Phone calls

Our phone line is handled by Twilio, a call-routing provider. We keep a log of calls (the caller's number, which menu option was selected, call duration, and outcome) so we can follow up on missed calls and voicemails. If call recording is switched on, you'll always hear a spoken notice — "this call may be recorded for training and quality purposes" — before the call connects, and any recording is stored only for training and quality purposes. Voicemails you leave are recorded and emailed to us so we can call you back.

Cookies

We set strictly necessary cookies regardless of your choice — a session cookie and a matching security token that keep the site's contact and review forms working securely. These can't be used to identify you or track you across other websites, and don't require consent under UK GDPR/PECR.

If you accept cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, we also load Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to help us understand how the site is used (which pages are visited, roughly how visitors found the site) — no data is used to identify you personally. If you reject, or don't make a choice, Google Analytics never loads. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which brings the banner back.

Who else sees your data

We don't sell or share your personal data for marketing purposes. A small number of service providers process data on our behalf so we can run the business:

• Twilio (phone call routing, recording and voicemail)
• Our website hosting provider, who stores the data above securely
• OpenStreetMap, which supplies the map tiles shown on our Areas Covered page — loading the map causes your browser to request image tiles directly from OpenStreetMap
• Google Analytics, only if you accept cookies — see Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy for how it handles data

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry, review and call data for as long as reasonably needed to handle your enquiry, maintain business records, and meet any legal obligations, and delete it when it's no longer needed for those purposes — sooner if you ask us to.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to object to how it's used. To exercise any of these rights, contact contact@masonlocks.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
